– A clipboard, pen & paper to write down people’s names and answers
– A pot to collect the money
How it works:
Get an empty jar.
Fill the jar with some sweets (remember to count how many are in there so that you can keep track).
Ask people to take a guess at how many sweets are in the jar.
After the day is complete, reveal the winner!
Additional ways to raise money:
You could add rounds to the guessing game, sort of like a knockout tournament. You could start off with the first round being a low amount such as 20p and put the closest 10 people through to the next round. Then empty the jar and put in a different amount and ask those same 10 people to guess again. If you were to give away a bigger prize such as a bigger bag of sweets then this would entice more people into getting involved.
You need to know exactly how many sweets are in the jar, so that you can fairly choose the winner! If you don’t, this might discourage people from taking part in your fundraising events again as they might think you are being biased towards certain people.
